Late Ordovician Mass Extinction

The FIRST mass extinction event happened around 445 million years ago,
ending approximately 85% of all life on earth. It’s believed that the
planet underwent a rapid process of cooling and warming that drastically
dropped sea levels. Marine organisms such as trilobites and brachiopods
were the most affected by this, since most multicellular organisms
lived in the sea.
